Nakheel demanding 1st April 2009 service charges to get title deed

Hi,

I'm trying to collect my title deeds for my International City apartments. When I started the process a couple of months ago I only had to pay the 2nd year service charges. Now Nakheel require an extra 6 months service charge payments from 1st April 2009. Anyone else trying to collect their title deeds and being held to ransom?

yes you are correct. we picked up our title deeds in april but were only released them if we pay this years 6 month service charges! payment of service charges should hav nothing to do with title deeds.
