Anyone got any advice on Panama? Is this a good market and if so who buys there?

Thanks

Panama is great

You are certainly not early, but Panama is still way behind CR. Look for new condos in Panama City in areas like Punta Paitilla. Also Ceros Azul is a beautiful community at about 2-3000 feet elevation and stays much cooler and drier; it was listed by AARP as one of the top 10 retirement destinations outside the US. Panama offers a cheap and fun lifestyle.

I'm a Canadian who has bought here and I have done well with my investments. I have been here almost 4 years and absolutely love the city and country. Comparing it to other central/south american countries this is the closest to the States as you will find. It is super modern, water is drinkable right out of the tap anywhere in the country, wifi internet in the countryside just to name a few benefits.
I have been seeing more and more americans coming to Panama lately as well as Venezuelans arriving due to the Chavez problem. So much so that I am now selling real estate here now. If you need any advice pm me for more info.

I don't know where you've read there was a lot of projects that failed  I know of only two that were halted and restarted at a later date with a change of floorplans, height and design. In both cases, 100% of the deposits were refunded to investors/buyers. About the Los Farros that is an ambitious project, I drive by it almost everday as it's near where I live. It will be a very high end hotel & casino, three towers in total and it' right in front of the MultiPlaza mall. I believe the developers are from Spain..

Panama has very large ROI numbers. It's being developed more and more but you cqan still get in. I know a lot of folks wish that the country was bigger just because of the opportunity. Not sure if it is true, but I think Mic Jager just bought some land out towards Boca Chica.
