I live in the north-east of England and am looking to invest in UK property in place of a long-term pension plan. My idea is to focus on the north-east of England and once I am comfortable I will then look further afield.

Any help and assistance would be greatly appreciated.

This sounds like a good plan. I have some knowledge of the North of England although having moved to Scotland 15 years ago I may need to refresh my research. Historically the region has been more about long-term rental income as opposed to significant capital appreciation. However, is this starting to change? Are investors now looking outside of London and the South of England?
