There must be a better way to utilise empty high streets up and down the country? Whether this would require various tax breaks from local and national authorities is a matter for debate. But surely it is a crying shame leaving high street properties underused and underdeveloped especially when the UK is crying out for more rental properties?

It does seem like a missed opportunity for local authorities especially those in need of social housing.
