Property investment in Dubai

HI All,

I am a British Citizen interested in property investment in Dubai, currently looking for banks in the UK\Dubai that can offer mortgage for such investment.

From what I am reading, currently there are no banks in Dubai that offer mortgages for internationals, not sure if that is true. If it is, then can someone let me know any UK bank providing overseas mortgage (to invest in Dubai)?

Regards

I would probably start looking towards the likes of HSBC, Barclays and the rest of the U.K.'s main banks. The majority of them have exposure around the world and specific units for investment hotspots such as Dubai.

Hello Thanks for your response, I had already contacted majority of the major banks in the UK, before posting this question, may be I should have stated that.
Answer is, none of the banks I have contacted so far (HSBC,Lloyds, Barclays, Natwest, Halifax)provide overseas mortgage to invest in Dubai.

Hi Coolrock

If you are a non UAE resident and willing to invest in Dubai, you can approach to those bank who have Non Resident product or you can have mortgage consultants in Dubai to assist you. Certainly, you can get loan to buy a property here. Hope this will help you

Hi @Coolrock,

You can try a contacting mortgage advisory companies based in Dubai that specialise in these matters. Home Matters and Holborn assets are a couple that I have worked with here. Hope this helps.

Hi @Coolrock,

ADIB (Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank) has a branch in London and they provide mortgages to non-UAE residents.

It is an easy and straight-forward transaction as long as you have the correct paperwork.

If you want further details, please send me a direct message and I can set you up with the right person and provide all the detailed information.

Good Luck

I think this perfectly shows that when governments try to restrict access to finance there are ways around it. At the end of the day if there was no speculative investment in property markets around the world then liquidity would dry up.
