Despite the apparent doom and gloom among some experts there are signs investors are looking to take advantage of short-term pricing pressure to maximise their long-term returns. If you

It is starting to look as though all of the doom and gloom prior to the referendum was well overdone. Stock markets have now bounced back to levels last seen prior to the referendum. For many "brave investors" this may turn out to be an extremely attractive buying opportunity in the longer term.

The EU in the UK will come to a deal on traded because the EU sells significantly more to the UK than the UK sells to the EU. There are also rumours that many countries are queueing up to sign trade agreements with UK authorities so it looks as if concerns about any potential economic impact after Brexit have been overdone. As a consequence, it is no surprise that buyers of UK real estate are keeping their powder dry in the background.

We could be on the verge of the best buying opportunity for UK real estate in many years. Have you got the ability to overlook any short-term volatility and focus on the long-term potential?

Interesting to see that the FTSE 100 stock market index is at an 11 month high while the FTSE 250 stock market index is just a fraction under where it was before the EU referendum result was announced. While the pound may well have fallen, this helps overseas investors looking towards the UK, today there is speculation of a UK base rate cut and the pound has strengthened.

Over the last few days there has been talk of direct trade deals between the UK and China, Australia, New Zealand, India and even the USA. The long-term prospects for the UK outside of the European Union are nowhere near as dire as many had predicted. There is also talk of the European Union offering the UK a compromise deal on immigration with a seven-year "brake" on free movement within Europe and access to the single market.

The UK was seen as a safe haven by many investors as part of the European Union, despite not adopting the euro, so surely it should be an even greater safe haven attraction in the longer term? Amidst all the doom and gloom many people seem to be forgetting that the UK is the fourth largest economy in the world. Surely the European Union needs the UK more than the UK needs the European Union?

The discussion about whether the UK will remain something of a "safe haven" is very interesting because while Brexit offers greater flexibility it does weaken the UK position somewhat losing the power of the European Union. At the end of the day investors will decide what they see as safe havens and there is every chance the UK will remain on this valuable list.
