History will show that Margaret Thatcher, love her or loathe her, oversaw the biggest change in the UK property market in living history. Whether this new found wealth was spread equally across the UK population is debatable.

Capitalism swept through the UK property market in the 1980s creating significant returns for many people. However, some areas of the UK are now out of reach for many first-time buyers so where does this leave future first-time buyers?

Sometimes I wonder whether the situation is really as bad for first-time buyers across the whole of the country as some would have you believe. True, areas such as the South of England and London have seen enormous growth in property prices but has this really been replicated in other areas to push prices beyond the reach of first-time buyers?
